Olaty® offers essential oils, carrier oils, and hydrosols selected to bring botanical character into everyday rituals and personal spaces.

This guide provides general ways to use Olaty® botanical products. Always review the individual product label and product-specific instructions before use.

Essential Oils

Essential oils are highly concentrated botanical products. Olaty® Essential Oils are selected across a range of aromatic profiles and can be incorporated into personal rituals, home environments, and suitable diffuser applications.

Because essential oils are concentrated, use them thoughtfully and follow the directions provided for each individual product.

Diffuser Jewelry

Olaty® Diffuser Jewelry brings together distinctive jewelry and essential oils, allowing selected materials to hold and gradually release an aromatic experience.

Our Indigo Collection — Denim Diffuser Jewelry

Selected pieces from our Indigo collection use denim fabric as a diffuser element. The fabric can hold a small amount of essential oil and release its aroma gradually.

As a general starting point, use less than one drop of essential oil.

Place a very small amount of essential oil on your fingertip first, then gently rub or dab it onto the denim fabric. This helps control the amount and prevents excess oil from reaching the surrounding jewelry surfaces.

Allow the oil to absorb into the denim before wearing. Reapply a small amount when the aroma fades.

Lava Stone Diffuser Jewelry

Natural lava stone is porous and can absorb a small amount of essential oil, allowing the aroma to be released gradually.

Apply a small amount directly to the lava stone. A single small drop is generally enough to start. Allow the oil to absorb before wearing.

Reapply when the aroma fades. Different essential oils vary in intensity, so starting with a small amount is recommended.

Avoid applying essential oil directly to metal surfaces, plated finishes, gemstones, or other non-porous parts of the jewelry unless the individual product instructions specifically state that the material is suitable.

Wood & Wooden Elements Diffuser Jewelry

Selected Olaty® jewelry designs may feature natural wood or wooden elements that can be used as a diffuser element. Depending on the specific material, finish, and construction, suitable wooden elements can hold a small amount of essential oil and release its aroma gradually.

If the individual product instructions indicate that the wooden element is suitable for aromatic use, place a very small amount of essential oil on your fingertip first, then gently rub or dab it onto the designated wooden element. Start with a minimal amount and allow the oil to absorb before wearing.

Avoid saturating the wood and keep essential oils away from metal surfaces, plated finishes, gemstones, polished or coated areas, and other components unless the product instructions specifically state that they are suitable for oil application.

Because wood can vary in porosity, finish, color, and treatment, always follow the individual product instructions when available.

Suede & Textile Cords Diffuser Jewelry

Selected Olaty® jewelry designs may feature suede cords or textile cords. Absorbent cord materials can hold a small amount of essential oil and provide a subtle aromatic experience when the individual product is suitable for this type of use.

For suitable suede or textile cord designs, place a very small amount of essential oil on your fingertip first, then gently rub or dab it onto the cord. Start with a minimal amount and allow it to absorb before wearing.

Avoid saturating the cord or applying oil directly to metal, plated surfaces, gemstones, or other non-porous components of the jewelry.

Suede and textile materials can differ in composition, dye, treatment, and finish. Always follow the individual product instructions when available, and discontinue aromatic application if the material shows any unwanted change in color, texture, or appearance.

Diffuser Jewelry Care

Apply essential oils only to the designated diffuser element. Avoid saturating the material or allowing excess oil to spread onto surrounding jewelry components.

When changing oils, allow the diffuser element to air out before applying a different aroma. Store the jewelry clean and dry when not in use.

Soft, calming aromatic profiles can be incorporated into an evening ritual or quiet personal space. Use only as directed on the individual product label.

Essential Oil Diffuser Guide

When using essential oils in an aroma diffuser, follow the diffuser manufacturer's instructions and the individual oil's recommended usage. Use the appropriate amount of water or other medium specified by the diffuser.

Do not add undiluted essential oil directly to water intended for skin contact or bathing unless the product instructions specifically provide an appropriate method of dispersion.

Essential Oils with Carrier Oils

Carrier oils can be used to dilute essential oils for applications where the individual essential oil and carrier oil are both suitable. Follow the product-specific instructions and use an appropriate dilution.

Do not assume that every essential oil or carrier oil is suitable for every skin application. Review the individual product label before use.

Essential Oils in the Bath

Essential oils should not be added directly to bath water without an appropriate dispersing method, as essential oils do not naturally mix with water.

Follow the individual product instructions and use only a suitable method of dispersion when incorporating essential oils into a bath.

Carrier Oils

Seed Oils

Carrier oils derived from seeds can be used as botanical base oils according to the individual product's intended application and instructions.

Nut & Kernel Oils

Nut and kernel oils are botanical carrier oils with their own characteristic textures and profiles. Review the product information carefully, especially when allergies or sensitivities may be relevant.

Botanical Infused Oils

Botanical infused oils combine a carrier oil with plant material or botanical extracts. Use according to the individual product description and label.

Fruit Oils

Fruit-derived oils can provide distinctive botanical characteristics and can be incorporated into suitable personal care rituals according to product-specific directions.

Hydrosols

Hydrosols are aromatic botanical waters produced during the distillation of plant material. Their aromatic character is generally softer than that of essential oils.

Rose Otto

Rose hydrosol offers a soft floral botanical aroma and can be incorporated into suitable personal or atmospheric rituals according to the product label.

Lavender

Lavender hydrosol provides a fresh floral aromatic profile and can be used according to the individual product's intended application.

Thyme

Thyme hydrosol has a distinctive herbal aromatic character. Follow the product-specific directions for appropriate use.

Myrtle

Myrtle hydrosol has a fresh botanical profile and can be incorporated into suitable routines according to the product label.
